Events > Dark Shadow, Harbinger of Destruction

The "Dark Shadow, Harbinger of Death" event has 2 stages which are accessible at all times, 'Hard' and 'Expert'. . By completing these floors you can earn exchange bytes and in rare cases, MirageGaogamon and ShineGreymon. The break-in Digimon ALWAYS drop their own data fragment when you beat them!

During this event a special stage may open for an hour per day for the whole server at a random time. Read more about the extra stage below.

There are also chips available for this event that increase the amount of bytes you receive and boost the attack and special attack. A, B and C give 3, 2 and 1 extra bytes per fight respectively and boost ATK/SATK by 5, 2 and 1.5 respectively. A Digimon can only have 1 of the same event chip installed. The way they increase drops is as following:

(combined chip bonus) * Golden Boxes Dropped + base drop = Bytes Received

Chips DO NOT increase the rate at which extra stages trigger or the break-in Digimon will appear.

Strategy

Hard

While hard is clearable with unawakened Digimon even without chips, I would not recommend it. To be safe, either have +1 or +2 Digimon with single target skills that are not resisted or have unawakened Digimon with at least a C event chip to boost their attack. Also make sure your Digimon are max level and max friendship.

Expert

In expert, try to bring at least one Digimon that is either a Null, Fire or Light attacker. Here are their advantages:

The Digimon in the Expert stage are quite beefy and if you do not have chips, bringing +3 or higher Digimon is your safest option.

Bringing lower awakened Digimon is fine as long as they have event chips and are not going to tank most of the hits. Bringing one high defense awakened tank Digimon can make clearing the stage with lower awakened Digimon with chips fine as the chips give high offense boosts but do not help defensively.

The Digimon in this event go after the highest DEF Digimon first, so keep that in mind when choosing your Digimon.

Recommended Set Up
  • Single Target (+3 or higher)
  • Single Target (+3 or higher)
  • Single Target (+3 or higher)
Lower Awakened + Tank
  • Single Target Chipped (+2 or higher)
  • Single Target Chipped (+2 or higher)
  • Tank (+4)
Recommended Digimon For Expert
Single Target

Gallantmon - Single Target
Type: Bright Move: Light

Gallantmon does great damage and even has a chance to apply a DEF down debuff. Doesn't do well against break-ins but can at least provide support.

Ophanimon - Single Target
Type: Bright Move: Light

Ophanimon gains 1.5x DEF and SDEF and hits hard on the boss and neutral on other Digimon. Putting Digimon to sleep is also a nice bonus. Does take a while to clear the break-in Digimon.

Dynasmon - Single Target
Type: Mirage Move: Null

Sustains itself with its draining skill which hits everything for neutral. Can tank effectively since his high defense will taunt the enemy Digimon.

Leopardmon - Single Target
Type: Mirage Move: Null

Leopardmon has a hard hitting skill which abuses the low SDEF of the enemy Digimon and also has a chance to apply a DEF down debuff to support your team. Safest with darkness resistance.

ShineGreymon - Single Target
Type: Bright Move: Fire

Shreds the early bosses and hits for neutral on Zwart D. Assuming you have resist trained him against Darkness, ShineGreymon is an awesome pick.

Gankoomon - Single Target
Type: Blazing Move: Fire

If you were lucky to pull Gankoomon from gacha, you can use this powerhouse perfectly as it matches up well against the weak early bosses and neutral Zwart D boss.

EXTRA STAGE - DARK SHADOW

The extra stage triggers once per day (Japanese Time) in the menu and is available for 1 hour once it triggers. It can trigger at any random hour at XX:00. The stage can only be done in CO-OP mode. Once it is active, you should clearly see it in your quest list like this:

In this stage you will encounter 3 very weak Cyberdramon and an extremely beefy Omegamon Zwart D. Would you want to beat this tanky powerhouse, you will definitely need to make sure you that you have a Digimon that can effectively tank him for the long fight ahead. A Dark resisted Digimon that will tank is a must. If this Digimon does not have self-sustain, you want to bring a Digimon with a healing skill to keep it healthy.

SPECIAL STRATEGY (VIDEO)

For faster clears, bring a Digimon with the Poison skill. This inflicts 10% of his health in damage between turns, hitting for a whopping 5,5K damage. The creators of the stage have also deliberately left him without a resistance to poison, which means it is easy to apply. Poison skills with different names stack such as Super Poison or VenomMyotismon's poison so you can try to stack them just like in the video.

TIP: Bring a Palmon as it has a 95% chance to poison with its signature skill and it STACKS with other poison skills! It will also never be hit because enemies go after the highest defense!

The stage costs a relatively low amount of stamina at 25 stamina a try and can award a lot of bytes. While it is hard to beat, the stage has a rare chance to drop a lot of bytes! One of Growlmon's friends got a lucky drop in a group of 3 C chips.

*During the earlier event rush event, Growlmon found a pretty obvious pattern in the extra stage's times which turned out to hold throughout the whole event. The table below has FORECASTED times for the stage to trigger. Last event, the pattern proved to be true, however that does not mean that it is the same this time. Please do not use the times below as fact.
